By far the most famous face here is Mr. Baywatch himself, David Hasselhoff. Much has been written about his performance as ‘Boner’, particularly the shower scene that features a fleeting glimpse of the young actor’s knightrider. As for Mr. Huge-Rock-Star-In-Germany's dancing skills, a kind observation is that he moves like a very tall, enthusiastic white man with serious motor-skill issues. Needless to say, Hasselhoff's biography at his official website never mentions the film. Still, you’ve got to admire any movie that combines beaucoup boobs, tons of drugs, the occasional flash of hilarious dialogue (“Oftentimes, the magic word ‘shorthand’ will make the difference between a low-paying job and a medium—paying job"). Sudden schtik from the great Carl Ballantine and an inexplicably surreal climax that brings together the giant Wheel Inn dinosaurs near Palm Springs, Bronson Caves in Hollywood, a well-placed pit of golf course quicksand and the subterranean sci-fi lair of Officer Krupke fiom WEST SIDE STORY. All followed by more
dancing. Say what you will about it, but you’ve got to admit that you’ve never seen anything remotely like REVENGE
OF THE CHEERLEADERS.
